   • If the dog didn’t get your “ouch” message, repeat the technique several times and leave him. This lets him know that his playmates might leave him whenever he bites

   • Use persistence in training the biting puppy. As his bites become softer, continue to pretend that you’re hurt. Make it apparent that biting is inappropriate to humans

   • Reward the biting puppy for good behavior. Whenever the dog licks instead of bites, give him treats or heap praises on him

   • Train him with the “Off” message. It is possible to teach the “off” command only after the puppy stops biting with pressure. In this instance, you can put a dog pellet in your hand and state “off”. This lets him know that “off” is a command for not touching.

   • If, by some chance, the puppy wasn’t able to learn his lessons despite all this, enroll him in a professional dog training school
